This guy can exude raw animal energy. Not a brilliant musician, but somehow "things happen" when he is involved. The Sex Pistols self-destructed a year after their birth; behind them they left a single masterful album that defined "punk" music.
John/Johnny created Public Image, LTD in the wake of punk, completely re-inventing his music. Maybe this was what we called "new wave" back in the 80's. Whatever you call it, there's some truly great songs on their string of albums, and always a blast of energy. "Flowers of Romance" was the most primal of their efforts, and my favorite.
