You
may have noticed that I have a fondness for "live" (concert recordings.
This album is a true document of the 60's rock music scene, featuring a bold foil cover. It is a double album (on vinyl, anyway), with one record live and one from the studio. I pretty much wore out the live one.
This original "supergroup" was composed of Eric Clapton (guitar), Jack Bruce (bass), and Ginger Baker (drums). If you are only familiar with Clapton's later work, you'll need to forget everything you know about him to appreciate this one. These guys jammed like there was no tomorrow. Arguably the prime of each musician's career, Cream's excursions took old blues in thoroughly modern, free-form rock-based directions.
