PHIL KELLOGG: Guitarist, promoter, songwriter
ALBUM: Passive-Aggressive (Hands Solo Music)
STYLE: sorta folk, kinda blues, a little fake flamenco, sometimes even
almost classical. Finger-picked, steel-string guitar. About 75% instrumental, the rest
original vocals. About 90% of my songs are original compositions; I do cover songs
by Bukka White, Sam McGee, John Fahey, The Rolling Stones, The Who and a few others.
INSTRUMENT: primarily a Taylor 514c acoustic six-string guitar, koa wood, large, loud, cutaway body.
Heavy brass slide. Plastic finger and thumb picks, usually Gibson brand, occasionally
Golden Gate brand. D'Addario "Bluegrass Gauge" Bronze strings (56/46/36/26/16/12).
Actually, they pack them with a .025G and .035D but I usually break those and substitute the heavier ones.
