Jim Parent
Jim Parent did not play a musical instrument on the album, but his creative input is obvious with a glance at the cover.
Jim designed, photographed, and built the incredible graphics on the cover and inside.
I approached Jim with the idea: "I want to illustrate the idea of gravity gone awry."
So how does one accomplish this? The short answer: one asks Jim.
We set out to photograph me holding my guitar - upside down. The first try had me dangling from a tree,
held by a rope tied around my ankles. OK - good idea, didn't quite work (a few of the attempts are shown below).
Undaunted, we trudged over to a nearby schoolyard, where I dangled upside down from a piece of playground equipment.
AHA! Now we're getting somewhere. Jim played with the resultant image until it became what you see on the
front.
