JEFF MINNICK
My first words to drummer Jeff Minnick were, as I recall, "I have an unpredictable sense of rhythm and I've rarely played with a drummer."
I was totally serious, as I'm sure he realized by the nervous look in my eye.
Jeff shrugged. He then proceded to perfectly support each tune he was called upon for - first try after a brief run-through.
We simply sat and played. Suddenly each song took on a life that I did not realize it had.
I couldn't get a photo of Jeff, and when I tried
to track one down I found that none seemed to exist; he is a mystery man who comes in, plays his ass off, then slips away into the fog.
He brings out the best in each person he plays with.
